In today’s interconnected world, where individuals possess unprecedented access to technology and social media platforms, branding has emerged as a vital tool for establishing a unique identity in the digital landscape. Branding encompasses the deliberate effort to shape and promote an organization’s image and reputation, aligning it with their values, goals, and aspirations.

This workshop explores the significance of using social media, along with the benefits, and strategies to cultivate an authentic brand that resonates with your target audience.

Speaker Bio – Tora Brown, Business Advisor – College of the Canyons SBDC

A Business Advisor since 2007, Dr. Tora Brown specializes in helping clients with business startup, government contracts, sales and marketing, branding and public relations.

In 1997, Tora started Tora Brown Public Relations, which executes external-focused communication and branding strategies for more than 35 nonprofit organizations in the Los Angeles County area, including developing public relations plans, national and local advertising, media events, creating media press kits, b-roll footage, photography shoots and social media.

Tora is committed to helping SBDC clients achieve their full potential: “I enjoy having the opportunity to help business owners grow their businesses”.

Tora has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, a B.A. in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, an M.S. in Public Administration with an emphasis on Community/Public Relations and Human Resource Management from California State University, Los Angeles and a Doctorate of Psychology with an emphasis in Organizational Management and Consulting. She has a certificate in Management Development for Entrepreneurs from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Actively involved in the community, Tora has been a member of many business and community organizations, including the CSULA Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley. She is a past recipient of the WIN Foundation Woman of the Year Award.
